Fairport Neighborhoods

I thought it might be fun to approach Fairport’s Neighborhoods by using the neighborhoods that are in the popular app Nextdoor.

Nextdoor is a source where neighbors can post questions, upcoming events, lost and found, give recommendations of local businesses, classifieds, and send urgent alerts. On Nextdoor, Fairport has 33,323 residents and 51 neighborhoods. 

I have listed the neighborhoods in alphabetical order. I chose a few to highlight and expand upon by showing some fun aspects of each. 

Fairport Neighborhoods on Nextdoor:

Beaumont Estates is a beautiful neighborhood of custom-built homes located off Turk Hill Road near Monroe County’s only winery, Casa Larga Vineyards 2287 Turk Hill Rd. Visit – Casa Larga and is adjacent to the Vineyard Hills Neighborhood.

Belinda Crescent 

Black Watch Trail is a large tract that is located off Hwy 31 and Rt.250/Moseley Road and runs to Garnsey Rd. Close by the Garnsey Arboretum Garnsey Road Arboretum – Town of Perinton located at 501 Garnsey Rd is great for hiking, picnicking, bird watching and relaxing in a natural setting included is an arboretum, hiking trails and a multi-use field.

Bramble Ridge is a large housing tract that runs along the Erie Canal(W) and is bordered by Ayrault Rd(S) and Rt. 250/Turk Hill Rd(E) and Minerva DeLand School(N). The location offers quick access to the popular amenities of the Erie Canal Boat Launch 426 Ayrault Rd., Perinton Community Center 1350 Turk Hill Road a great facility with an aquatic center, gymnasium, fitness facilities, 55+ lounge and multipurpose rooms, the Center Stage amphitheater at 1100 Ayrault Rd., and the 4.5-mile Rochester, Syracuse and Eastern Trail.

Bushnell Basin the canal-side hamlet is located on Route 96. Richardson’s Canal House restaurant is located at 1474 Marsh Rd in the oldest original Erie Canal Inn. Close by you will find Great Embankment Park and Bushnell’s Basin Docks, a one-acre public boat dock area on the Erie Canal with amenities that include: camping, docks, fishing, hiking trails, picnic tables, restrooms, and showers.

Crystal Springs/Brentwood runs along Brentwood to the South, Jefferson Avenue to the West, bordered by the Irondequoit Creek to the East and Route 31F to the North is an established subdivision of single-family homes. There is also some apartment and townhome complexes close by. The location provides quick access to Perinton Park on the Erie Canal a favorite among locals.

Georgetown Commons is an established townhome community off Rt. 250/Moseley Rd right close to Wegman’s and Perinton Plaza. In this complex, you can enjoy a swimming pool, community center and beautifully kept grounds atop a hillside perch.

Hickory Ridge is a popular family-friendly neighborhood with a strong homeowners association. Close-by is the popular destination of Kreag Road Park which consists of 9 acres and includes: a playground, picnic shelter, tennis and pickleball courts, softball fields, basketball court, and access to various trails including the Crescent Trail and docks that provide access to the Erie Canal.

McCoord/Inverness This neighborhood is close to the 2.6 miles McCoord Woods via Crescent Trail Loop a popular destination for walkers.

Westage and Hulbert if proximity to the canal-side village and ease of living is your style you may want to check out this neighborhood. The Westage has one-two-and three-bedroom condominiums to lease or own. Hulbert and surrounding streets have a large variety of ranch-style homes with easy main floor living. Potter Place Park is a neighborhood park where there is a: community garden, large park with playground, soccer pitch, baseball diamond, site of the Lion’s Den Teen Center and basketball and pickleball courts that have recently been remodeled.

Whitebrook 

Wincanton 

Woodcliff is a beautiful neighborhood perched on a hilltop adjacent to the Horizon Hill Conservation Area. There is a wide range of single-family homes, townhomes and patio homes to choose from. The upscale Woodcliff Hotel & Spa and a beautiful 9-hole golf course make this a very desirable area.
